Cape Fear Memorials traces its origins back to 1974, when James L. Hester preached a revival for Irvin Stone, owner of Stone Memorials in Collinsville, VA. During his frequent revivals, James immersed himself in the monument business, learning from Mr. Stone. When Mr. Stone decided to sell, James purchased the company and renamed it Hester Memorials. Alongside his wife Johnny, James dedicated decades to assisting countless families in commemorating their loved ones. Today, the business is known as Cape Fear Memorials and is run by his son Robert Hester. Continuing his father’s legacy, Robert and his daughter Keri strive to help families find the perfect monuments to honor and remember their loved ones.
